Research

Research of musculoskeletal conditions is important to improve the treatment that is provided to patients.  We at New Jersey sports medicine have been involved in various types of research over the past 2 decades. This research includes a variety of publications which include abstracts, published articles, book chapters, textbooks and internet articles. Our publications cover a broad area of medical conditions which includes sports injuries, low back pain, neck pain and whiplash injuries. A listing of the various publications that we have been involved in is provided on our site for our patients so that they can read about some common conditions that they may be experiencing.

We are currently involved in research regarding platelet rich plasma with an ongoing database study to see which patients have done well with this procedure.  We also completed a project looking at rotator cuff anatomy in collegiate baseball pitchers.

We are currently developing a project to evaluate the effect of ones own growth factors injected into the spine for disc pain, pinched nerves (ie radiculopathy/sciatica), and spinal stenosis (narrowing).

If you are interested in supporting our research, please donate to New Jeresy Sports Medicine Education and Research Fund at the New Jersey Health Foundation, Inc.
