Growth Factor Facet Injections

People with pain from facet joints usually have neck or back pain the uncommonly refers to the arms or legs.  To assist in the diagnosis, the nerves to these joints (medial branches) are blocked/injected with local anesthetic and if the pain is eliminated then set up for either steroids/cortisone to be injected into the joints (along with its own set of issues) or the nerves are "burned" (e.g. radiofrequency ablation), which ususally last 6-18 months.

Growth factors come from one's own body, are concentrated, and injected into the small facet joints in the spine to stimulate healing and reduce pain.  The procedure is a standard procedure, but the solution injected differs and there is no destructive process.
